What is it about cycling that inspires people to share their thoughts, reflections and general view points on life? Does it have something to do with the individual nature of the sport? Maybe. Maybe all the long solo rides provide the perfect setting for deep thinking. Or maybe it has something to do with the suffering. Nothing like a good dose of self-induced pain to bring about the philosopher in us all. Or maybe cycling just attracts a certain type of individual that likes to share their thoughts and feelings. Who knows. I'm just speculating at this point.
The point is, there's an abundance of cycling-related or themed blogs out there. Some damned good ones too. Does the world wide web really need one more? Probably not, but I'm feeling the urge to open up and I figured this was as good a venue as any.
Going by the title, this may seem more like a cyclocross-oriented blog, but I think 'cross merely inspired me to take the leap to get started. Cycling is my passion, any form of it, and this blog will revolve around that. I'm not saying other stuff won't work it's way in here from time to time, but it's mostly going to be cycling related.
As my first blog ever, I'm approaching this as a work in progress. That first step is the toughest. We'll see how it goes from here.
Blog well and often, hombre!
ReplyDeleteThanks Greg, big fan of Mud and Cowbells. I used to live in Colorado about seven years ago (Denver area) and it's nice to keep tabs on the CO 'cross scene (and I'll admit, live a bit vicariously through your racing...) Damn, do I miss it out there!
ReplyDeleteKudos to you for trying to maintain the balance, it ain't easy!
